What is an 0844 number?
0844 is a fixed rate virtual number.

How can an 0844 number protect me?
Having an 0844 number gives you the opportunity give others access to your home telephone number without actually giving out the number itself, as the 0844 number redirects calls to your home telephone number. It prevents others to locate you by your STD code (prefix that shows where you live).

How does the 0844 number work?
0844 numbers are completely transparent to your current telephone service. The service is simply implemented by mapping your 0844 number to your current home telephone number. When anybody calls your 0844 number they are redirected to your home telephone number without any delay in the call whatsoever.

What will it cost me?
Absolutely nothing! DatingBBW makes the 0844 available to you at NO cost for installation, NO cost for calls and NO cost for line rental. There are NO charges now or in the future for having the DatingBBW 0844 number. This is a service by DatingBBW to protect you and is part of your DatingBBW membership. All setup cost are carried by DatingBBW, so the 0844 number is completely FREE to setup & use!!!

Do I need new telephone equipment installed?
No. All changes are carried out at the exchange level and are completely independent from the telephone equipment you have at home. However if your existing equipment allows, you may wish to change your outgoing number presentation (i.e. your caller id) to your new 0844 number. A simple call to your telephone service provider will give you the information how to do this.

Do I have to change my existing telephone provider?
Absolutely not! We redirect your new 0844 number on to your existing number. Your existing telephone service provider (BT, NTL or other) will neither know nor care that this has happened.

Can I give my 0844 number to my family and friends?
Of course you can, if you have friends or family living in anywhere in the country, you can give them your 0844 number and they can call you and only pay 5p per minute at all times (based on calls from a BT Landline other operators may charge different rates).

Will my existing telephone number still work?
Yes, you will still be able to use your current home telephone number and you can be reached on your existing home phone number.

What if I move or change my telephone provider?
If you move (or change your actual home phone number for any reason), DatingBBW will organise to simply re-direct your 0844 number to your new number.

What happens when I terminate my DatingBBW membership?
The 0844 number will still be yours and will remain yours for free, for as long as you want it.

What happens if I have a persistent caller whose telephone calls to my 0844 number are not welcome?
You can use the normal blocking features available through your existing telephone service provider. Alternatively, you can contact the 0844 number provider via DatingBBW, stop your 0844 number altogether and replace it with a new one. Your existing home telephone number does not need to be changed.

NOTE: All calls made to an 0844 number are charged at 5p per minute at all times (this is based on calls from a BT Landline, please be aware that other operators may charge different rates.)
